Helmets?

I was wondering what the rest of the “extreme sports” world thought of helmets. Last year 3 inline skaters were in comas from hitting their heads so hard and a couple years back a dude died from it. So lately allot of people having talking about it and why helmets are considered so lame.

Shitty addition to this topic but just recently Josh Waggoner from Atlanta, GA hit his head skating and from what I understand, declared brain dead.

There’s proof for wearing a helmet ^{^}. No matter how hardcore you are, or how dumb you are, you will hit your head eventually.

If i’m doing something dangerous enough ill put on a helmet but i find they make my head heavy and sometimes messes with my balance.

i think helmets are good news. you never know when you are gonna need one, you can’t just put one on during a bail

Depends what your doing i think. Half pipe and airing, yes.

if im just having a session with my homies im helmet free but if im at a park doing bowls or drop-in’s i wear a helmet

Definitely need to wear a helmet. Better safe than sorry; even if they look gay.

I’m a street skater so I almost never wear helmets because it screws up my style

you wont be too stylish as a vegetable though either ;)

one small fall from like 5 feet really isnt going to hurt you that bad, but on stuff like X games mega ramp you should wear helmets. look at jake brown if hadnt been wearing a helmet he’d probably be dead right now. but that was a 50 foot drop and walked off with a helmet on so five feet with no helmet cant kill you

So vert skateboarding is considered more dangerous than street skateboarding? Its the other way around in rolling.

I’m saying stuff like X games big air is more dangerous than street skating not all vert is more dangerous than street

Ya I guess it all depends, my street skating definitely ain’t more dangerous than vert or big air skating haha.

my mom bought me a helmet for my b day and said If I didnt wear it I could’nt skateboard
