Maverix Snowboard Podcast 33 - Rome & Burton Groms kill it (07:22)

It just goes to show that when you have the resources and the opportunity to get on snow at an early age you can accomplish great things. Maverix Snowboard Productions spent a couple of days with a crew of east coast rippers to see what they could do. We were not disappointed. The team was Kyle Mack (10yrs) with his brother Darren (6 yrs), Jacob Aaronsen (12 yrs), his sister Shana (10 yrs) and Jack Herald (11 yrs). These guys truly know how to ride with 7's being the flavour of the sessions. Already these kids have picked up sponsors like Burton, Anon, Oakley and Rome Snowboards. We cannot wait to see where these kids take it. Japanese Rollergame (10:08)

Rollergame is a variation of the sport of Roller Derby that is played in Japan by the Rollergame League, established in 1990. Rollergame is played on either a flat or banked track, and on either traditional (quad) roller skates or inline skates. Roller Game is inspired by the original Roller Derby. It is a full-contact athletic competition with strictly enforced rules and no staged fighting. Japan's derby (flat track or banked track) is so bone crushing that body armor and full head, neck and face crash gear are absolutely necessary! Among the unique features of Rollergame, which is played on a 100-m oval track: Only one team plays offense at a time – in Roller Derby, both teams have jammers on the track at the same time. The jam starts with the 4-member defensive team entering the track and skating in a line. At the half-lap point they are joined by 4 of the 5 members of the offensive team, who skate in a line beside them. The offensive team's jammer then enters after the two teams complete a lap together. Once the jammer enters, the pack can spread out around the track, and skaters can engage each other anywhere at any time. Jams last 60 seconds. Sets are used instead of periods, with team winning the best 3 out of 5 sets winning the game – in Roller Derby, the winning team is normally determined by cumulative points scored in all periods.

Xcorps Action Sports Show #18.)"MTN.BOARD"seg3- Xcorps host Eric Ducharme and 20 other dirt board skaters roll down the infamous Nate Harrison grade on the backside of Californias Mt. Palomar in this grassroots speed driven episode. All terrain skating also known as mountain boarding is a hybrid sport that has taken skating to a whole new grass roots level of adrenalized excitement. Once again Xcorps cameras were the only ones rolling on the action as boarders ripped down the 7 miles of rough fire road on the historic Palomar Mtn which is topped by the famous observatory. Race rules were simple- fastest time to the bottom of the mountain wins. The show opens fast and hot as the X Guru and other boarders strap themselves to their specialized skateboards, which have pneumatic tires, and spring suspensions that help handle the bone jarring washboard ride. Dirt riders roll hard in show scenes backed by Maverick Records band One Side Zero. See the dust and gravel fly as Eric and the guys and one gal-Julian Lewis- slide into the hairpins. Lots of cool POV and multi angle speed shots here along with some brutal wipeouts. Most riders do wear full protective gear resulting in a good survival rate.
