Text RIDE to 90999 to make a $5 donation to the Tony Hawk Foundation, and through Tuesday, October 20 all donations will go directly to a critical project for the youth of Watts. A new skatepark is being developed in the shadow of the world-famous Watts Towers in the Los Angeles inner city. There are critically few positive outlets for Watts youth, and the skatepark will represent a new emphasis on the youth in the community. This landmark project needs your (and all your fiends') help. Watch the video, then text the word RIDE to 90999 through Tuesday, October 20 to make a $5 donation to the Tony Hawk Foundation. All text donations received through Tuesday, October 20 will go directly to the Watts Towers Skatepark. < less

One of the gnarliest surfer dudes of the 1960s whose expert talents were utilized for the front pages of "Surfer" magazine and in a number of "beach party" movies. At the height of his surfing popularity, he decided to flee the U.S. in 1970 after a warrant was issued against him for credit card and check fraud. He traveled around the globe surfing for a living before returning to California in 1973 and facing probation, which he broke. He was in and out of jail twice and spent much of his later years in France. < less
