Then years later you see the footage again (or the skater) and they are nothing like you remember... The slam was soft, the skater was fat and can barely ollie. I was worried that this was the case with this Hosoi slam from a 1985 Mt Trashmore contest. My good friend Dave Messick filmed this, and I'm pretty sure he is the only one that did. He originally showed me the footage around 1995 and I was blown away...You see, Hosoi just didn't slam like that! Especially when he was doing his trademark airs on the edge of the ramp. I called Dave a few months ago to dig it out of the vaults, and it was just as good if not better then i remembered!! Enjoy this piece of history! < less

B.A.S.E. jumpers-Buildings-Antennas-Structures-Earth are an insane and growing niche of adventurers who first must do thousands of jumps from aircraft to learn the needed skills to jump closer to earth. The viewer is pulled downward with adrenalized clarity into one of the largest limestone sinkholes on the planet The Cave of the Swallows near the remote town of Golondrinas in Eastern Mexico. The hole is 1200 feet deep – a seven second 100 mph B.A.S.E. drop into an echo chamber filled with sound of screaming freefalls and the wail of thousands of swallows and parrots living in the vertical cave walls.
