Bly Nantz - Etnies Flow - Nollie Tre, Nollie Inward Heel, Big Spin Double Flip, Cab Flip - all d... (02:04)This footage of Bly Nantz is from September 2007 when he was 14. He had gotten on Etnies at the end of September - so you see him wearing a couple of other brands of shoes in this footy. He obviously owns this drop at the Bowling Green KY skatepark. Once he's landing a trick off the drop he can quickly take it to the 5 set or larger. There's an arsenal of tricks in this video: cab flip, nollie tre, nollie inward heel, switch double flip, big spin double flip, backside flips over a 5 set handrail, quite a few manny tricks, and lots of switch business. Keep in mind he's regular footed. At this point his switch tricks are smoother than most people can do in their normal stance. I think this was his first switch tre down the drop at the BGKY park. Anyway - Bly's current age is 15. His current sponsors are Etnies (flow), Blue Wallace skateshop, Blue Balls Bearings. He is looking for deck, truck, and wheel flow sponsorship.Added about 4 months ago From mk2 Views: 363 | Comments: 1 |
SKATEBOARDING: IS IT A CRIME? (04:26)Here is a short video I made as a school project for my Participation In Government class three months into my senior year of high school in 1991. We were allowed to pick our own topic so of course I picked skateboarding. If I wasn't riding my skateboard, then I was watching a skateboard video and this eventually made me curious on how they were made and wanting to make videos myself. I had already made a video entitled, "Say Cheese", before this school project so I already had a head start. I already had filmed some skate footage of my friends so I went out and shot the couple of interviews out on the street and the interviews with my friends to complete the filming. I edited the video on two VCRs and borrowed some type of audio mixer from Radio Shack from a friend to add in the music and narration (all in one take). Total rig job. In typical school project fashion I waited until the last minute and made the video the night before. I didn't even have a fresh, blank VHS tape to turn the project in on... I submitted it at the end of one of those Vision NSA contest videos from 1986. I turned the project in on time and the next day in class my teacher made an announcement that she was going to play the video for the whole class. I was like, "oh shit!", everyone already hated me 'cause I was a skater, "now they're really gonna hate me." So, the video was played and people dug it and were kinda impressed I think because they we're reacting to the skating while it played and asked me lots of questions after. The point made in the video (is there even one?) is pretty poor but my teacher rewarded me with an A+ due to the fact that I actually made a video. All the other students just handed in crummy charts and graphs. She even played it for all her other classes. I win. Skaters in the video are: Eric Shugats, Joe Cassenti, Larry Ransom, Stan Knight, Chris Fritton, Chris Crenshaw, Mike Drinkwalter, Andy Gulkin and Salman Agah. Written on the VHS tape label: P.I.G. Japanese Rollergame
(10:08)
Rollergame is a variation of the sport of Roller Derby that is played in Japan by the Rollergame League, established in 1990. Rollergame is played on either a flat or banked track, and on either traditional (quad) roller skates or inline skates. Roller Game is inspired by the original Roller Derby. It is a full-contact athletic competition with strictly enforced rules and no staged fighting. Japan's derby (flat track or banked track) is so bone crushing that body armor and full head, neck and face crash gear are absolutely necessary!
Among the unique features of Rollergame, which is played on a 100-m oval track:
Only one team plays offense at a time – in Roller Derby, both teams have jammers on the track at the same time.
The jam starts with the 4-member defensive team entering the track and skating in a line. At the half-lap point they are joined by 4 of the 5 members of the offensive team, who skate in a line beside them. The offensive team's jammer then enters after the two teams complete a lap together.
Once the jammer enters, the pack can spread out around the track, and skaters can engage each other anywhere at any time.
Jams last 60 seconds.
Sets are used instead of periods, with team winning the best 3 out of 5 sets winning the game – in Roller Derby, the winning team is normally determined by cumulative points scored in all periods. |

The show opens with Jason ringing Roslyns bell at her new LA valley pad complete with pool and resident lover D.J.Dan who hooks the show up with a wide spread of new cool videos c/o friends at RIVE video promotions. Thank you Rive. From poolside and with blue margs in hand Roz and J throw to the mix. Don’t miss the roots footage here with a band that is part of the west coast history of Hip Hop. Next Roz and J twist it up a whole lot with a visit to the abstract reggae world of our friend EEK A MOUSE and his video Schizophrenic. Are you talking to me? Cool high-end video effects here as well as EEK wardrobe creativity to back the insanity. Included after that is a great interview Jason did with Eek backstage at the Doheny Days music festival in Dana Point California. Following the video are some words from the Flicker Records band and some behind the scenes shots where the crew throws rocks at the band and the ceiling caves in. Rock on! Roslyn then turns viewers on to something new from Sweden-a Relapse Records band called BURST and their vid Save the Lives. Trying to figure this one out is pretty fun but don’t watch this if you dislike insects and power lines and more insects!
