Andrew LaPenna is the newest member of the Meanwhile Skateboards team. We met up with him in Nashville to skate at 2 public skate parks: Metro and Franklin. Andrew is so consistent at landing tricks I had to separate the Metro footage and the Franklin footage into 2 different video parts because he was landing more than falling. He's not the most tech skater out there but he can skate most any terrain at full speed and land rolling out smooth. B.A.S.E. jumpers-Buildings-Antennas-Structures-Earth are an insane and growing niche of adventurers who first must do thousands of jumps from aircraft to learn the needed skills to jump closer to earth. The viewer is pulled downward with adrenalized clarity into one of the largest limestone sinkholes on the planet The Cave of the Swallows near the remote town of Golondrinas in Eastern Mexico. The hole is 1200 feet deep – a seven second 100 mph B.A.S.E. drop into an echo chamber filled with sound of screaming freefalls and the wail of thousands of swallows and parrots living in the vertical cave walls. Surreal for sure! Watch those boulders when landing! There are no nearby hospitals. See how they get out. Xcorps host Bob Woodard rides a new skateboard from our friends at PHAT boards.
