WWW.MBSKATEPARK.ORG - The Tony Hawk Foundation has begun a Pledge Drive for the skatepark under the Manhattan Bridge in New York City. We hope to make improvements to this incredible location that is currently little more than a covered, open space with a few ramps and rails scattered around. Hundreds of skaters from all over the Tri-Borough area, New Jersey, and elsewhere come to the park every week, which is in the heart of New York's skate district, accessible to public transportation, and shaded part of the day by virtue of the massive bridge structure overhead. The Coleman Skatepark at Manhattan Bridge is a sanctioned skatepark, and has such great potential to be a world-class skate spot. Please help and make a donation. Go to WWW.MBSKATEPARK.ORG and be sure to list MANHATTAN BRIDGE SKATEPARK in the Tribute window. Thanks for your support, and SHARE THIS LINK! < less

NYC needs a skatepark that raises the standards toward something state-of-the-art. It’s almost embarrassing. NYC can’t even hold a huge skateboarding event, unless they bring their own ramps (including a vert ramp). We have enough ball fields with their lights on all night and no one playing on them…it’d be nice to have one skatepark with lights, esp on hot summer days, to be able to skate at night.
Thanks to everyone who is working to make this happen. Dig deep people, now is your chance to contribute to the cause. I hope this will bring more places to skate in the future.
