A brief excerpt of the Birdhouse Vert Demo at Ollie's Skatepark in Florence, Ky. It was BADA$$. I was lucky enough to be on deck to film for the park owner. This is just a small portion of the footage... I was indeed stoked to meet Tony Hawk. (I'm still stoked about that day.) Here's my blog entry for that day... http://concretins.blogspot.com/2007/10/faith-and-confessions-of-fanboy.html < less

Well I think the music works. But, you can always mute it and listen to your iPod as you watch. I'm just glad someone is still watchin' vert skating, you know, since it's so dead and all. ;)

Um, by the insane skating that went down, and the shrug at the very end from Tony… I thought the sarcasm would be clear. No, I KNOW it is… besides I already stated that clarification about 2 months ago. But for you slow learners who don’t pay attention… read slowly and carefully… The title of the video is a JOKE. This was uploaded just after ESPN cancelled/reinstated the vert contest in the X-Games… claiming vert was “dead” and wasn’t worth their time. Vert is clearly not dead. I can’t skate vert, because I don’t skate vert. I don’t hate ANY type of skating. Those who do, aren’t real skaters. I don’t thank “vert.” I thank Tony. And Lance, Bucky, Cab, McGill, Hensley, Magnusson, etc. etc. and Powell Peralta, H-Street… for showing me that being an outcast in the 80s wasn’t a big deal and skating is GD fun!

if you hate vert so much then why did you go to a vert demo and also you need to thank vert for the ollie, alan gelfand in invinted it on vert and rodney mullen transfered it to flat ground, and with out vert there would be no shred or die website because tony hawk would not have become famous and never thought of shredordie.com so be thankful for vert dont hate what made skateboarding famous in the first place
